CPS Energy has released for reply comment further revisions to our Pole Attachment Standards Version 4.0 (the “Standards”) today, March 15, 2019, based on the initial comments filed by Charter Communications, Verizon, and ExteNet. Following the filing of initial comments, we engaged in further communications with each stakeholder and are proposing to integrate into the Standards most of their proposals. In particular, our discussions with Charter Communications concerning the treatment of strand-mounted Mid-Span Installations (WiFi Access Points) proved very productive and have resulted in the bulk of the proposed revisions, which will not impact network providers deploying traditional small cell technologies. CPS Energy continues to work with stakeholders to ensure the adoption of best practices in the Pole Attachment Standards to further streamline our processes and operations for the benefit of all attaching entities.
The target implementation date for the revised Pole Attachment Standards is April 1, 2019, which will be posted on this page: https://www.cpsenergy.com/poleattachments.
