President & CEO
Paula Gold-Williams is the President & CEO of CPS Energy. Paula leads more than 3,000 team members with the vision she has coined, “People First,” whereby CPS Energy is evolving its efforts to create and deliver value to its customers, community, and employees into a new age of energy solutions.
Paula has more than 30 years of leadership experience in San Antonio, including being a Regional Controller for Time Warner’s cable and telephony regional office and the VP of Finance for Luby’s, Inc. before coming to CPS Energy in late 2004.
Over her 14 years at CPS Energy, she has progressively served as Controller & Assistant Treasurer; VP & Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) – Organizational Excellence & Shared Services; EVP, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) & Treasurer; and EVP – Financial & Administrative Services, CFO & Treasurer.
In addition to her role at CPS Energy, Paula currently serves as the 2019 Chair of the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, along with participating on countless boards and committees.
Paula has an associate’s degree in fine arts from San Antonio College. She earned a BBA in accounting from St. Mary’s University, as well as a finance and accounting MBA from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).

Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Cris Eugster is responsible for overall operations and strategy for CPS Energy including over 7500MW of generation capacity, 12,600 miles of electrical distribution, 1,500 miles of electrical transmission, and 5,300 miles of gas distribution system. He is also responsible for corporate strategy including the integration of new technologies and the development of new products and services for our customers.
Eugster was formerly a Partner with McKinsey and Company. He has a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University, and a Master of Science and Doctorate from MIT – all in Electrical Engineering.
Senior Vice President of Delivery Engineering, Integrated Planning, Substation & Transmission
Paul Barham is responsible for the safe, reliable and economical delivery of electrical power to our customers. He oversees the Engineering and Planning functions for Transmission and Distribution, field operations for Transmission and Substation, and the grid modernization and asset management programs associated with electric delivery.
Barham has been with CPS Energy for over 32 years. He has served in a variety of positions at our utility, including leadership positions in Power Generation, Generation Planning and Energy Market Operations.
Barham has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas.
Senior Vice President of Power Generation
Benjamin Ethridge is responsible for the safe, environmentally responsible operation of CPS Energy’s fleet of fossil-fueled power plants which includes 22 generators with combined generating capacity of more than 4,600 megawatts.
Ethridge joined CPS Energy in 2015. He has over 30 years of diverse, energy industry experience in the Western, Southeast/Southwest, and Mid-Atlantic regions of the U.S. He has served in various technical and leadership roles at NRG Energy, Topaz Power Management, Reliant Energy/RRI Energy, and Houston Lighting & Power.
Ethridge holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from Houston Baptist University. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas.

Senior Vice President of Distribution Services & Operations
Rudy Garza is responsible for CPS Energy’s maintenance and construction activity as well as the Energy Management Center which operates our distribution system on a daily basis.
Before arriving at CPS Energy in 2012, Garza served as Assistant City Manager and as Intergovernmental Relations Director in Corpus Christi. He also worked for TXU Corporation in Dallas for 13 years.
Garza has a Master of Business Administration from University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas.
Vice President of Energy Supply and Market Operations
John Bonnin oversees the utility's wholesale power portfolio management, including Day Ahead and Real Time operations, bilateral power trading, fuels management, and associated analytics.
Bonnin has 27 years of industry experience, including 18 years at CPS Energy. He has directed the Day Ahead and Real Time activities of Energy Supply and Market Operations since 2012, with a focus on managing market risks to native load customers and optimal dispatch of our power generation fleet.
Bonnin has a Master of Science in Management/Computer Resource Management from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Louisiana State University.
Vice President of Grid Transformation and Engineering
Richard Medina is responsible for Grid Transformation, Transmission and Distribution Planning and System Engineering, which includes integrating new technologies into the Grid to support our Flexible Path while maintaining a safe and reliable system.
Richard has been with CPS Energy for over 26 years, serving in a variety of positions in various engineering departments, Gas Engineering & Marketing, and Distribution Construction & Maintenance.
Medina is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Texas, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Chief Administrative & Business Development Officer (CABDO)
Frank Almaraz oversees CPS Energy’s Compliance & Ethics, People & Culture, Business & Economic Development, Supply Chain and Facilities functions. Previously, he has held the positions of Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations, Interim Group Executive Vice President, Treasurer & Shared Services Lead and Vice President of Energy Supply and Market Operations.
He has led the execution of several key initiatives including the acquisition of an 800MW natural gas combined cycle power plant, negotiation of a complex 25-year 400MW solar PPA and an agreement to deploy advanced metering infrastructure to the CPS Energy gas and electric systems. Frank is also on the Boards of Directors of the American Gas Association, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the DoSeum, San Antonio’s Museum for Kids.
He joined CPS Energy in 2011 as Senior Director of Energy Strategy and Planning after serving in various executive roles at Energy Future Holdings in Dallas.
Almaraz has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
Interim Vice President of Compliance, Ethics & Facilities Master Planning
Curt Brockmann is responsible for bringing our enterprise compliance programs under one umbrella, while developing a more proactive, comprehensive and strategic approach to improve our compliance posture. Mr. Brockmann is also responsible for the Facilities Master Planning group.
Previously, Mr. Brockmann provided legal services and advice to our power generation, gas, ESMO, nuclear, EDS, and safety & security areas and proactively improved the quality of strategic development at CPS Energy.
Mr. Brockmann has extensive experience working on environmental, compliance, and litigation issues as well as leading our compliance groups.
Mr. Brockman is a licensed Professional Engineer, holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Juris Doctorate degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law.

Vice President of Supply Chain
Martha Mitchell leads our Supply Chain team toward their goal of making our business practices easier – for both internal and external customers.
Previously, Mitchell led our Customer Success efforts, where her process improvement skills and execution capabilities helped deliver record-setting customer satisfaction and brand appreciation. In addition to leading the Customer Success business unit during the last eighteen months, she was the executive leader responsible for our Grid Optimization program.
She joined CPS Energy in 2004 and has served in various leadership roles within our EIT team. Prior to CPS Energy, Martha worked for other leading customer-centric organizations in the country, including USAA.
Mitchell has a Master of Arts in History from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Psychology from Marshall University.

Senior Director of Business & Economic Development
David Jungman is responsible for overseeing clean energy technologies and bringing economic development opportunities to San Antonio and CPS Energy. He is currently evaluating various smart city initiatives for CPS Energy including smart street lighting, water AMI and other IOT technologies.
Jungman joined CPS Energy in 2002 and has worked in a variety of roles including Controller, Senior Director of Finance and was responsible for Treasury and Debt Management functions within the company. Most recently Jungman was responsible for the development and administration of CPS Energy’s new strategic initiative – The New Energy Economy.
Jungman is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Vice President of People and Culture
Since 2015, Lisa Lewis has led 90-plus human resources professionals in the areas of recruiting, leadership and employee development, technical training, compensation and benefits and employee relations. She’s focused on enabling our CPS Energy workforce to evolve with the fast-changing utility industry. She is an advocate for STEM education and workforce development in the San Antonio and serves on the advisory board for San Antonio’s CAST public high schools.
Lewis joined CPS Energy in 2001 and worked in a variety of roles, last serving as Vice President for Corporate Communications, Media Relations and Corporate Responsibility from 2012 to 2015. Before joining CPS Energy, Lewis worked in marketing communications and advertising for service industry clients ranging from healthcare to public transit.
She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Texas State University.
Vice President of Real Estate Development
John Benedict is responsible for overseeing improvements and maintenance of operational and corporate employee facilities. This includes long-term plans to revitalize our service centers, assess our headquarters options, and complete other strategic real estate transactions/opportunities.
As Chief Administrative Officer, Benedict helped to establish a robust financial planning process, support information technology talent acquisition and infrastructure improvement initiatives, and enhance purchasing metric performance, relative to local and diverse vendors.
He has a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Miami.

Senior Director of Gas Compliance
Don Stanton oversees Gas Compliance strategy at CPS Energy. He is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and federal pipeline safety utility regulations.
Stanton is an active member of the Texas Gas Association Board of Directors, the Southern Gas Association Board of Directors and the American Public Gas Association Board of Directors.
Stanton holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from Texas State University.
Chief Customer Engagement Officer (CCEO)
Felecia Etheridge oversees customer experience and engagement initiatives at CPS Energy. She is also responsible for ensuring consistent and exceptional customer experiences across major customer channels and touchpoints.
Prior to joining CPS Energy in August 2016, Etheridge led her own consulting company. She has also worked at Pacific Gas & Electric Company, TXU, Assurance Energy and Global Customer Solutions.
She has extensive experience in customer service, smart meter implementation, customer operations, energy delivery, regulatory relations, federal affairs, and human resources.
Felecia is a graduate of Harvard’s Advanced Management Program, and has a BBA in International Marketing from Texas A&M University.
Interim Vice President of Customer Success
DeAnna Hardwick oversees Customer Success, which includes Customer Experience, Customer Service, Metering Operations, and Customer Revenue.
Previously, Hardwick led our Customer Experience efforts and served on a special assignment for the Office of the President. DeAnna started her career at CPS Energy in 2015 when she was hired to be a call center leader.
Prior to joining CPS Energy, Hardwick spent 15 years working at various companies like Nationwide, where she was charged with delivering easy and exceptional customer experiences.
Hardwick holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
Senior Director of Account Management
Karma Nilsson oversees the Managed Accounts at CPS Energy. She is responsible for enhancing customer relationships and developing innovative solutions that support CPS Energy’s transformation into a strong, innovative 21st century power provider.
Previously, Nilsson has served in a variety of departments including Joint Base San Antonio, Industrial & Commercial Technical Services, Process Improvement and Industrial, Key Account Management and Commercial & Residential Energy Auditing. Nilsson also sits on the Boards of San Antonio Restaurant Association, Association of Energy Engineers Austin/San Antonio Chapter and the Advisory Board for the San Antonio International Airport

Vice President of Community Engagement & Corporate Responsibility
Maria Garcia oversees CPS Energy's community programs, which includes the Customer Response Unit (CRU), Community Outreach, Public Safety & Education, and the Casa Verde SA weatherization program. She also has oversight of the Corporate Responsibility team, which coordinates fundraising, volunteerism, internships and employee engagement initiatives to benefit our community.
Garcia has been with CPS Energy since 1999, serving in a variety of positions specific to Supply Chain, Customer Service & Gas Delivery, Key Account Management, and Community Engagement.
In 2009, she led the utility's creation of Casa Verde SA, which provides weatherization services to income-qualifying families. She established CRU in 2014, and delivered the mobile customer service unit, Mobile Support Center (MSC), in 2017.
Garcia has a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word. She is a graduate of the Executive Education Program at Rice University, in addition to Leadership San Antonio, and she serves on various community boards in San Antonio.
Senior Director of Corporate Communications, Marketing & Smart City Outreach
Jonathan R. Tijerina is responsible for internal & external communications, marketing and the development of our smart city outreach efforts.
Previously, Tijerina served as Chief of Staff for the President & CEO. Tijerina has held positions with increased responsibility in Governmental Relations & Public Policy, Corporate Communications, and two stints in the Office of the President. Jonathan is also on the Board of Directors for The American Red Cross of Central & South Texas Region.
Tijerina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Senior Director of Military Strategic Cooperation & Support
Garrick Williams oversees the utility’s partnership with Joint Base San Antonio military installations to ensure energy security by promoting energy resilience, growth, development and energy efficiency.
Prior to joining CPS Energy in 2013, Williams spent over 22 years in various positions as an officer in the United States Air Force.
Williams earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA and a Masters of Business Administration from Strayer University in Washington, D.C.

Senior Director of Products & Services
Andrew Higgins is responsible for enhancing and introducing products & services to continue to meet our customers’ expectations. He joined CPS Energy in June of 2019. Prior to joining CPS Energy, he most recently worked at General Motors in Detroit, where he was a senior executive in their Chief Data and Analytics Office that was responsible for product development. Drew also spent more than 10 years at USAA, where he was the Director of Integrated Products.

Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel (CLO&GC)
Carolyn Shellman oversees CPS Energy's Legal, Audit, and Governmental Affairs functions.
Before joining CPS Energy in 2006, Shellman served as Vice President & General Counsel for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT). Prior to that position, she was a partner at the law firm of Hunton & Williams LLP and a partner at Bickerstaff Heath & Smiley LLP. She also has served as the Director of Hearings as well as the Secretary of the Commission at the Public Utility Commission of Texas.
Shellman is a graduate of Vassar College and has a law degree from the University of Oklahoma. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the State Bar of Oklahoma.

Vice President of Government Relations, Regulatory Affairs & Public Policy
Kathy Garcia is responsible for Federal, State, and Local Relations at CPS Energy. She executes strategic governmental and regulatory relations, public policy and business development initiatives to protect and advance the interests of CPS Energy.

Deputy General Counsel & Chief Records Management Officer (CRMO)
Zandra Pulis oversees CPS Energy’s Records Management and Claims Departments, manages personal injury and property damage litigation, and advises management on employment matters, commercial transactions, policy development, and open government issues. She also provides support to the CPS Energy Board of Trustees.
Pulis joined CPS Energy in January 2000 from private practice in Corpus Christi, initially focusing on the deregulation of the electric markets in Texas and later shifting her focus to labor and employment matters. She has previously served as Interim Director of CPS Energy’s Audit & Ethics Department.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University and Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center.
Vice President of Audit Services
Matt Mills leads Audit Services, an independent and objective assurance and consulting activity that is guided by a philosophy of adding value to improve the operations of CPS Energy. Audit Services assists the organization in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the organization's governance, risk management and internal control processes. In addition, Audit Services supports the work of the external auditors and coordinates directly with the Board of Trustees Audit & Finance Committee.
Mills joined CPS Energy in 2016 and has more than 20 years of auditing and leadership experience. Most recently, he led internal audit efforts at Alamo Colleges. Additionally, he has held audit management roles at KCI, AT&T and Ernst & Young, LLP.
Mills earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration from Trinity University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.

Deputy General Counsel
Abigail Ottmers oversees financial, transactional, regulatory and strategic legal matters. Prior to joining CPS Energy in 2014, Ottmers practiced law at Haynes and Boone, LLP, and was the Briefing Attorney to the Honorable Ronald B. King, United States Bankruptcy Judge.
Ottmers holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology (concentrating in Genetics) from the University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law. Delores Lenzy-Jones oversees CPS Energy’s Accounting & Finance functions. In this position, she is responsible for Accounting & Financial Reporting, Corporate Financial Planning, Cost Management & Operational Excellence, as well as Capital Markets & Cash Management, Strategic Pricing & Cost Recovery, and Enterprise Risk Management.
Prior to joining CPS Energy, Lenzy-Jones served as Vice President of Finance & Accounting at BGIS, a data center and facilities management company. She is a certified public accountant (CPA) and talented global leader with experience at Microsoft and Dell Inc. Her background also covers the utility industry, with 10 years spent at the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) as Transmission & Energy Services Business Manager, Lease Administrator and Senior Accountant.
Lenzy-Jones earned a Master and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance from St. Mary’s University. She went on to earn a second BBA with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Gary Gold oversees Accounting & Financial Reporting, Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis, and Cost Management for CPS Energy.

Interim Vice President of Finance
Cory Kuchinsky is currently serving as Interim Vice President of Finance at CPS Energy. He oversees Capital Markets & Cash Management, Strategic Pricing & Cost Recovery, and Enterprise Risk Management.
Kuchinsky joined CPS Energy in 2006 and has served in multiple leadership roles. Most recently, Cory served as the Senior Director of Grid Transformation Management and led the deployment of CPS Energy’s Advance Metering Infrastructure. Prior to joining CPS Energy, Kuchinsky worked for Ernst & Young. He has over eight years as an adjunct instructor teaching numerous university level accounting courses at several local institutions.

Chief Security, Safety & Gas Operations Officer (CSSGO)
Fred Bonewell oversees all of CPS Energy's Enterprise & Public Safety, Cyber & Physical Security, Fleet Operations, Business Continuity, Labor Relations, and Gas Delivery Operations.
As a result of a behavior-based safety program, the company continues to experience a reduction in employee accidents through the promotion of safety awareness. A similar approach is being implemented externally to encourage safety among contractors as well as customers.
Bonewell has more than 30 years of progressive leadership experience in employee health and safety, risk, workers’ compensation, and labor relations. In 2016, he was recognized by the National Safety Council for Distinguished Service to Safety. He has worked for Louisville Gas & Electric, Florida Power & Light, and others.
Bonewell is a graduate of Indiana State University.
Senior Director of Gas Delivery
Richard Lujan oversees the Gas Delivery strategy at CPS Energy. He is responsible for designing, constructing and operating natural gas operations.
Lujan previously served as Director of the Northwest Service District. In that role he oversaw construction and maintenance of CPS Energy's electric distribution assets, including Overhead Distribution, Service & Meter, Underground Residential Distribution, and Underground Electric Distribution.
Lujan is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Texas, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Trinity University.

Interim Vice President & Chief Integrated Security Officer (CISO)
Shanna Ramirez oversees the cyber, physical and data security, incident response and business continuity at CPS Energy. Her responsibilities include threat intelligence, people and asset protection, loss protection and business continuity.
Ramirez joined CPS Energy in 2015 as Director & Senior Counsel and has extensive experience providing business and legal advice. She practiced employment litigation at Haynes and Boone, LLP, and was Vice President & Deputy General Counsel for Fiesta Restaurant Group, Inc., supervising Legal Services, Safety & Risk, Claims, and Licensing & Compliance.
Ramirez earned her Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Trinity University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland School of Law. She is also a graduate of the Executive Education, Accelerated Development Program at Rice University.
Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Vivian Bouet is responsible for overseeing the technology roadmap, enterprise architecture, business solutions development, digital experience, and innovation functions at CPS Energy – as well as providing leadership in corporate strategic planning.
Prior to joining CPS Energy, Bouet served in executive leadership and management positions as well as worked as a senior principal consultant. Her two most recent leadership positions were with Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc., a Fortune 19 company and Anthem Health Insurance Inc., a Fortune 29 company.
Bouet holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of New York, Albany with graduate studies in Software Engineering at DePaul University.

Interim Vice President, Office of Enterprise Business Planning & Execution Excellence
Marisol “Mari” Weymouth is responsible for leading Enterprise Business Planning, Portfolio & Project Management Office, and the Enterprise Change Management teams which includes the planning-to-execution ecosystem: strategic alignment, business planning, portfolio and project management, and organizational “people readiness” change management.
Weymouth served CPS Energy from 2003 - 2010, and rejoined in 2015. She has previously served in various capacities across the organization including, Business Operations Management, Information Technology, Human Resources, Substation Construction, Smart Grid Transformation, Corporate Communications & Marketing, and Supply Chain. Mari is also on the Board of Directors for the San Antonio Mexico Friendship Council Board of Directors (SAMFCO).
Weymouth has a Bachelor of Arts, with a concentration in Computer Science/Application Systems, from St. Mary’s University, holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Leadership Studies, both from Our Lady of the Lake University.
Director, Board Relations & Chief of Staff to the President & CEO
KJ Feder is responsible for coordinating all internal activities for the President & CEO of CPS Energy, managing the internal and external alignment strategy of CPS Energy's Board of Trustees and spearheading various special projects.
Feder was previously the Board Relations Manager. Prior to joining CPS Energy in 2015, she was the Executive Director at March of Dimes San Antonio.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Communications from Bellevue University. She is also a graduate of Leadership San Antonio, the Alexander Briseno Leadership Development Program and the Latin Leadership Institute.
