Rafter Phase 2 Transmission Line

COMMITMENT TO RELIABLE SERVICE

In our effort to continually enhance the reliability of our service, we routinely evaluate our systems and rebuild when needed.

SCOPE OF PROJECT

We are building a new single circuit 138 kV transmission (power) line between our Cagnon and Rafter Substations. The Rafter Phase 2 Transmission Line Project consists of installing six miles of new transmission line between our Cagnon (located near 1604 and Dove Canyon) and Texas Research Substations (located near the intersection of Zeta Dr. and Potranco Rd). The construction work we are doing should have no impact on electric service in the area.

Our contractor, Southeast Power Corporation, will install new poles at the Cagnon and Texas Research substation in December 2019 and then wire, support arms, and some hardware starting in January 2020. We estimate it will take about four (4) months to complete the installation.

There will be vehicle traffic through existing easement and right of way during construction. A helicopter may be flown to minimize ground disturbance and expedite the project.

ESTIMATED TIMELINE

Construction will begin in December 2019. The scheduled completion date is April 2020.
